In this e-learning course, you will be given a brief introduction to technical auditing issues. After an overview of the field as a whole, the individual subject areas of technical auditing are presented.

The subject areas of construction and building use are included in the overview. As this is a significantly different focus, a separate e-learning course is planned.

Many auditors often struggle with technical audit fields. This is because they often have a business, legal or IT-related background and therefore have reservations about an unusual field.

It is clear that not all audit procedures that an engineer or scientist could carry out can be implemented by a business administrator, IT specialist or lawyer. However, many topics can also be carried out with a good understanding of control and systems, for which a good grasp is necessary and sufficient. New examination fields such as sustainability and social responsibility (ESG) also often have a technical focus.

The content is transferred to problems of the 'fictitious' audit team of Windsurf SE, which you may already know from other e-learnings of the Internal Audit Academy. At the end of each chapter, the content is deepened in learning checks.

The case study serves as an example in which an auditor who also carries out technical audits explains this field of activity to his colleagues and reports on it in a structured manner. The transfer makes it easier for you to derive approaches for your own work.

This e-learning course lasts 3 hours (50 minutes each) and costs EUR 150 gross. At the end of the course, you have to take a test of 10 questions on the contents of the e-learning. After passing the final test (70%), you can download a course certificate that you can use as proof of your professional development. As none of the four ethics fields are covered, you will receive 3 normal CPE.
